How to use the FastForm® - Thermoplastic Wrist Splint

1.Convection Oven

The FastForm ® - Thermoplastic Wrist Splint is placed in the oven at 75-85oC (65-185oF). Activation takes about 5 to 8 minutes until the splint is soft and malleable.

2. Water Bath

A conventional water bath is the easiest and quickest way to activate the FastForm ® - Thermoplastic Wrist Splint. Place the un-opened package containing the splint directly into the water bath at 75-85oC (65-185oF) until soft / malleable. Alternatively simply place the un-opened package containing the splint into a flat pan with hot water (aprox 2.5 litres) and remove the product when soft / malleable. This usually takes about 3 – 6 minutes. On removal, for ease, open 3 edges on the packaging and remove the heated product which is now ready to be applied on the patient. Heating the splint in the packaging is hygienic and ensures that the product is dry and comfortable when applied on the patient.

3. Microwave

The FastForm ® - Thermoplastic Wrist Splint is placed on a FastForm heat-pad specially developed for heating FastForm products and heated in a designated microwave oven for 3 -4 minutes until soft and malleable.
